Slowly, Steadily

Well, life and school decided to gang up on me after break!  Suddenly, I get a ton of stuff to do, most of which I have no idea how to do.  So you know the deal, more sporadic posts.  Yay.


On the bright side, I found an easy way to jazz up bobby pins!  Just get some plain black ones and paint them with nail polish.  Let it dry, and finish with a clear topcoat.  I can't believe I did not do it before...


And in hair news, my blue hair faded out and became bluish/green/yellow, so I dyed it auburn.  However, I realized my hair doesn't take dye well, so it's kind dark brownish red now, and it still smells like bleach.  Blech.

And in personal wishlist news, I got a new pair of boots...again.  These:

They are from the Vintage America collection, and are pretty nice for suede, though I'm afraid of them getting wet.  Where can I buy suede-protecting spray?

It's still pretty cold here, so I realized I need a new jacket.  Something like this:

A short time ago here was there

Wooh!  Finally, graduation is over and we won't have to face the torture of graduation practice anymore.  Stand up, sit down, no, only row 1, clap in unison...  Is it kind of sad that I dressed like a conservative grandma on my own graduation.  I mean, someone even asked why I wasn't dressed up when I WAS.  At least my handshake was decent (though slightly sweaty).

Anyway, over the weekend I found a Zac Posen shirt for 30% off.  Score!

Warm-Weather Candy

Mmm...sugar.  I've been craving some candy lately, but with the temperature going up, melty chocolate isn't going to cut it.  I'm taking a break from your usual programming to bring you some foo-related news...These are some sweets I've been eating:

Meiji Chelsea

A smooth, creamy, toffee-like hard candy that tastes like...well, butterscotch.  Unless you get the yogurt one (tastes better than it sounds).  They come in seasonal flavors too, and right now Praline is tickling my tastes buds...a mix of pecans, roasted sugar, and kinako comes to mind.  Available in Asian/Japanese groceries.

Fruit Mentos

What more can I say?  "The Chewy Mint" won't melt and is perfect for dropping into soda for a wonderfully explosive reaction.  They're dragees, whatever that is.  Somehow, I haven't gotten a single lemon in my pack...(never mind! Just found a lemon!)

Peanut Butter M&Ms

I ran out of these, but they are perfect when you want some chocolate (if you keep them in the bag) in the summer.  Can you tell I like nuts in my candy?

New Shoes

I just got these shoes from Marshall's:

Aerosoles Katapult Sandal

They were pretty cheap; only $30.  I'm not sure if I should keep them though, they are kind of high and might not classify as semi-formal?  I don't know, in real life the shoes seem a little mature and not really fit for a spring event.  What do you think?
